Born and raised in New Orleans, Duane has also lived in the San Francisco and Los Angeles parts of California.
Whether in the South or on the West Coast,
both areas have truly molded this artist's life experiences, inspiration and unorthodox creative education.
Drawing and painting has always come naturally to Duane.
According to his parents, he painted his first "masterpiece" (insert sarcasm) when he was only 3 years old on a small convenience store paper bag in 1977. Though the original along with many other artworks were destroyed in the 2005 Katrina flooding, he has paid homage to the original work as seen here on the site under the titles of the "Sacred Clown" mini series.
As it is for many, travel has always been a huge inspiration for Duane. Though looking back it may have been extreme, the first place he traveled to outside the United States was
India, Thailand, Nepal and Laos on a 6 month excursion.
His latest European travels to Amsterdam and Berlin were very inspiring and now having fully refreshed his
senses, he paints full time everyday in a raised New Orleans art studio/ house.
Fully focused on painting and producing music,
he is grateful to be living an extraordinary life of artistic and
creative purpose.
